transnational summer haze

August 2, 2010

nothing feels like a dream other than traveling to the foreign. but the foreign in this case is more liminal than i can claim. it can also be referred to be as my ”homeland”, or ”native soil”, or familial nation.  to see how i experienced it b4, when it was all so new check this out. as for now, it seems even more like a dream, as my mind/heart seems split in different regions and timezones.  still, nothing seems to ground me in nostalgia other than some of the recent pop music that i’ve been listening to.  here are some songs that have been playing over the last hot summer months. a lot of it is, of course, thanks to gvb.

sleep ∞ over : la rose

frankie rose and the outs : little brown haired girls

tennis : marathon

big boi’s mixtape for dummies

mash hall (10.4 rog) : up early in em (wrong side of the bed remix)

Act Raiser on myspace

gauntlet hair : i was thinking

kendal johansson : blue moon
